My Heartbeat

The youth at The Pentecostal Church of Hollister are awesome! Each of them are very special, unique and dear to my heart. They have amazing gifts and talents and are not afraid to use them. We live in a wicked world. They have struggles that we probably have never had to face, yet, they continue on and choose to serve him. They live in a world (some live in homes) that does not acknowledge or honor God. If we struggle as adults imagine how much more they must endure. They are doing their best to live a Godly life. Let's do our VERY best to help them along. Please pray for our young people. Pray for our children. The enemy of their soul is relentless and does not stop; why should we? When you see a young person struggling, instead of condemning them, love on them, pray for them and listen to them. It will take all of us doing our part to make a difference in these young men and women’s lives. I wholeheartedly agree with my Pastor, children, young people need boundaries. They need to know that some things are just NOT OKAY; end of discussion. They want you to lead them and guide them. They of course will never admit to it.

It has been so heavy on my heart lately that we are not fighting enough for our young people; this includes our children. Folks, everything in this world is trying to kill our children. The world is molding them and shaping them to conform to it’s theology and morals.

As parent’s we are first and foremost responsible for our children’s spiritual walk. Let’s make sure we are setting the example, especially, before we expect anyone else to. It is our responsibility to teach them the ways of the Lord. Be mindful of their prayer life, what they read, watch and listen to. We must take them to Sunday school, every church service and yes this includes youth services as well.

Titus 2
1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Titus 3
1 Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, 2 to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men.
3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

God Bless our YOUTH!

sis Tena i agree with you all the way. It makes so much diference to have some adult or elder encourage the young people, i can eve describe to you how wonderful it is to have those adults at our youth services. it makes a big diference even if we never say it.to be encourage by an elder is to say that i care about you. my life has changed so much because of people like you and bro kirk who take the time to listen and encourage me. and prayers oh i cant even describe of how precious it is to have an elder pray for you. you feel such a peace, thank you so much for all that you and bro kirk do , wanted to let you know that all the young people love you and appreciate every moment you have both spend with all of us even though we dont say it much.
